The police held him until Monday evening, and we await a trial date on the current charge "Simple Assualt" which has a penalty of no more than 6 months in prison and a possible fine.
Most atheist leaders have communicated to us that because of his actions they will not be able to allow him to come to their conventions in the future, and several have stated that they have removed him from already arranged line ups.
The attack was unprovoked and all attempts to come to an amicable resolution were made by Sapient when Greydon lost his cool and went apeshit. I hope to be able to provide public record at a later date to verify these claims.
You mean public records like the "East Valley Tribune" that Brian Sapient linked here? Kelly, did I not recall that you, Brian Sapient, and LeftofLarry defended Greydon during that incident? And seeing how people in the "Brian, my sincerest sympathies to you" forum are talking about their own past with medication for mental problems, is that to suggest that atheism causes mental disorders then? I mean, you've been saying that theism causes mental disorders, you know.
Kelly, did you know virtually all atheists in the Richard Dawkins Forum is happy that Sapient got his ass beat? Wake up and smell the coffee, people don't like you guys. Sapient provoked Greydon. Sapient didn't deserve what he got, but he was pissing Greydon off. There's just no denying that.
Any group of people that say they are happy to see someone get their ass beat for any reason should be ashamed of themselves. I sincerely doubt even Dawkins would respect such a group.
Physical violence between groups is very difficult to justify and physical violence between individuals even harder. In my personal opinion, whoever threw the first punch in the fight is PROBABLY at fault. I do not know who swung first though so I hope no one will accuse me of "taking sides" in this issue, but I am at this moment inclined to believe that the fight started when a conversation became heated and then needlessly violent. I can only hope that a reputable public record will come into being regarding this issue so that we can all know what happened and just let it go after appropriate steps have been taken towards arbitration.
I really don't care what the people at RD.net think--but keep in mind that the thread to which you refer is kept going by approximately 5 people there and no more. Brian did not provoke Greydon and in fact did everything possible to placate him. There are 2 eyewitnesses whose statements will be a part of public record after the trial, I'm sure, so keep on showing everybody how much of an ass you can be. And that you're too much of a coward to post using your actual identity.

This being said, the people on RD are being most reasonable considering you and Sapient tried to start a rumor that Dawkins was having an affair. You "claim" to have tried to do everything to calm Greydon down, except... stop CD sales pending the results of arbitration. You claim because you bought the CDs, typically $1.00 each for 1000, and sapient claimed to have not made back your investment after selling them at 1500% and having such demand you couldn't keep up with demand for 2 months. If this is true, you would have made back your investment, and worse yet you would have had to hire some temps to make the quota. If it's not true, then Brian neglected his duties for two months. In either case, Brian fucked up. Sapient was told to stop selling CDs. It doesn't matter if Sapient made money or lost millions. The music is property of Greydon Square. PERIOD
According to what Sapient said, he did everything BUT accept arbitration as an acceptable solution, and man up to the fact that he fucked up.

You (the rss) removed Dawkin's image from your site. You removed any Dawkin video that wasn't related to his speaking or talking on your show. A person can easily package 20 CDs in envelopes in an hour at a gross of $300/hr -postage and envelopes. You can meter at home and the USPS will pickup the goods. If demand was really beyond 1hr/week hire temps, they are cheap. I "speculate" demand wasn't this high, but I don't "know" because you and Sapient are not forthcoming with the details. But that's not relevant. Sapient mismanaged the situation. He assigned the task to a flunky and rather than be responsible for his own business, he ignored the GS side for 2 months.

While I agree GS committed a crime, based on information provided by Sapient and Kelly, there are some major mitigating circumstances. There is no justification for Greydon's actions, but even without him being bipolar, I can understand them.
I can't understand your actions though, that of gross negligence on the part of the business which did cause injury to Greydon Square. There is no excuse for that either, nor is there any excuse for your present campaign of malice and an attempt to distract form any accountability on the part of the RRS.
Greydon was wrong, no too ways about it. Brian was wrong too. Neither has an excuse. But Brian is also wrong to make this "minor assault" into... the same as being trapped in a room with Greydon Square and rapped. Sapient needs to learn how to actually be a better man and walk away, because it takes to people to have a fight. It shouldn't have been a fist fight, but Sapient needs to grow up.
